Maidens Eye by Sleetwealth
Maidens Eye
The story of Maidens tragical. You see her one large eye belonged to a human woman and as a tiny worm this one found, harbored and bonded with it. She is part her mother and part a new being.. maybe you have a similar symbiot fae child running around using your tooth, your hair or your fingernails....

I belong to a number of dollmaking lists as a result of my past forays into making them. I was curious if you belong to any such lists yourself? I've found the dollmaking community to be full of wonderful people from all walks of life who get together and share ideas about dollmaking.

I've belonged to the mailing list at almost since their inception. (A number of members are looking to post their work and I keep suggesting here, but so far I don't know if anyone has taken me up on it.)

Our moderator is named Dawn and she's been wonderful about keeping the list up and running all these years.

I used to belong to the dollmakers list. I didnt find it to be encouraging for beginners making edgy dark dolls.

It was 2005-2006   I moved on to a private  yahoo group. (Advanced polymer sculpture) that then died around 2009

Really? That's too bad, I've never found them to be anything but encouraging. But I had a lot of things going on in the years you mentioned and I wasn't able to check in to what's going on as often as I'd like. A lot of the folks on the list would like to find someplace to display their dolls to gain a wider audience and possible sale without the hassle of Etsy or starting their own web sites.

As I mentioned I keep trying to get them to sign up here, but I think many are put off by the title, and I'm not clear on DA's policy on sale of hard (non-electronic medium) products. I know of a bjd artist here that sells on Etsy, but again you have the hassle of them again.

Do you have any suggestions for this? May I give the list your site address here so that they may see what sort of doll art that's posted here?

I was lucky in that Pat Kochie and Pat Lillich saw me there. They inspired  and encouraged me, they also left that group for APS.

Coming to deviant art was the best for me. I grew a large following quickly.
Art dolls only (ADO) has a group on facebook. I think facebook is where most of the dollmakers  are most active.

yes you can share this address. I also have a website but at the moment it  only has one page for my bjd.
