Ok heres another WIP...
Amulet is a santos like religious statue of a royal child who was a seer.
In later centuries tinkered into a jointed doll. The ornate keyhole shaped screen in her chest covers a nitcho that contains the mumified remains.

I find the scarification on either side of her mouth to be really interesting I have noticed it on other of your figures before. just something you find visually interesting?

your eye for detailing is something I admire a lot.

well the mouth nourishment, emitting communication, lust and entrance into the depths of the body.. seems to be becoming a really central theme for me.

I have been exploring hands recently.

Tomorrow starts a hundred days of hand drawing. right hand draws left and then left draws right.

Awesome in embracing your symbolic language.

Ive since painted her and given her blond dreadlocks. Im hoping to find a good shadow box to put her inside. I also removed the sculpted ruffled collar because I decided a real cloth one would be better.

She looks incredibly beautiful and creepy at the same time. Also like she is lost in thought.
I love how she is unpainted here, almost like she has never seen sunshine.
I just love it! :iconohjoyplz:

you have such an ability to give birth to a great concept, and make it look as if it..could have evolved to be no other thing....they really have wonderfully unique presences....this one is especially bizarre and fascinating:)

Well yes though she isnt made to be an actaul moving doll she could be. I thought of that. Do you mean a full figure molded and cast in resin or a one of a kind jointed and made of clay?

One of a kind jointed. Would fit the concept of the character nicely I think.

I assume this one is one that begged to be created? Very imaginative and interesting. Nice to see something different than the standard sculpts! :) I cannot do this kind of work, it is nice to see it when someone can!

No not realy. I started with nothing in mind except that I wanted a keyhole nitch in the chest of a child. I wanted to continue exploring the theme that" Still she has no name " began. Then I just let it go where it wanted to since there are no demands or must be 's for this peice. If I could survive on it all my work would be this unstandard.

yeah it is sad that the imaginative work does not sell as well as the "pretty" pieces. But I love where your imagination is taking you on this one.

Id think there should be room for both ,but unfortunatly its usually goes one way. Theres alot of reasons.
Its a heck of alot easier for one thing to just make a pretty thing and not think too carefuly about concept.
But it works out ok for me. I can take time to explore and play with ideas.

Some might say I go a bit overboard with it,but I love organic patterns. I spend hours lost in it. I dont find it tedious its kinda medatative.

Im really jazzed about this concept (whatever it is) and style going farther and already want to start a new one.
