That's great. It made me remember seeing some of Ron Mueck's work in person and just wanting to touch it, too bad there were people guarding it. :slow:

This is incredible.I am stunned. This piece is only 5 inches tall? The expression is so life like and the lighting perfect for the subject . I love the idea of the small star behind the glass..much like a medieval monstrance with a bit of a saint or a thorn from the crown in it or suchlike. This is superb.

I have some imaginary worlds in my mind I draw on. Im not a very good writer. its easier for me to sculpt characters than write about them. The fairies would go into a tale well but ,the busts I think poetry snippets would be better.

Well thank you:D being organic helps. I dont plan ahead I simply make marks where they seem they would go from erosion, wrinking, movement.
Id like to add more surrealistic objects. But they always seem to mess with the purity of he lines. Im still not sure if I like the iron crown.
Im not ready yet for an exhibition, but I will be. One thing my buyers always say is they are better in person. Id also like a book printed of my works

That's cool. I like short hair on females for the same reasons sometimes. At times it's just a great fit for them. Personal touches are usually pretty great for creations because it adds a certain mystique to it. Not to mention when it's personal, you know what you're doing in a way no other would.

I totally agree, to me it's like you are creating a reality where these surreal elements are not only visually impactful, but are completely believeable. It really is astounding work that you are doing, i personally would pay top dollar to see an exhibition of your work.

Some of my disasters that I dont give up on turn out to be really fresh and good. Who knows whats good till its done.So I try to stay out of the way.
Im really liking the short hair now and planing it for another. It just seems to add something edgy to the typical sweet little girl imagery. Plus its personal since I have photos of me as a child with similar chopped hair.

You're right about over thinking some ideas is usually a negative thing for a creative process.

I'm glad that she ended up with short hair though. Because of it she stands out, especially since she's, well, a female. I don't think it would've been quite the same with longer hair. Funny how things turn out.

I know what I want and go after it like a pit bull.Im starting to get closer, but its still off from what my head shows me.
I am very pleased with this one:)
Im often totally unaware of the meaning. I just sort of do what pops in my mind. If I overthink it then Ill end up saying oh thats stupid and I wont get work done!

later I think its ironic that it was right in line with something in my life. In her case I was nearly out of brown hair and couldnt afford more.Solution short hair. The irony is my long brown hair was cut like this when I was 6 by a mad babysitter. I didnt remember till after I did it.

Seems like you just know what you want and you can just get it. Sure, maybe it's not perfect, but it gets the message right. You seem to do very well with what you have, I just hope you're pleased with it.

I think I know what you mean by that. Sometimes there's an idea and you want to craft it clearly and then think about it afterward. Sometimes those make some of the best work.
