As soon as Defiance slipped out of his black satin sleeping bag Melusine took a real shine to him! I may not get him back from her.
This is my one of a kind carmel Briar Melusine with elf ears.

i just got into doll making because i tried to get a decent girl robot for my daughter, and impossible to find one (for less than thousands of dollars). i wanted a robot that is neither just slutty nor a guy with boobs. so, i figured i would get a cheap robot, equip it with another programmable board, and modify the body... that's where the sculpting and experimenting with clays kicked in. you guys never considered making your dolls into autonomous creatures ? your undead girls would be soooo perfect !! :D

hmm Well Batchix has some girl Mecha's and I would not say they are slutty at all. The cost Im unsure of but I think well under 1k
The theme of artificial life as compaionship is always in my work. I even have a piece called Automaton.
my Wip Francine is a life sized jointed doll. sh e is based on Francine Descartes a little girl who died in the 1500 and whos father made a replica mechanical doll of her.

yeah, i've seen her work, and she's really good. unfortunately, it's not something i can afford, plus i need a real robot, with sensors and motors and interactive,... and i have to admit i highly enjoy the thrills of trying to make things that are far beyond my skills level. :D
wow, the story of francine gives me goose bumps, but it's fascinating, for sure ! where do you learn stuff like this ?!

oh a real robot! well haha there is a site called hobby engineering that sells robot stuff to make your own. I hear you I always try to make things beyond my skill. even if you goof youve still made something! and no one knows but you what it was like in your mind!
Its an interesting story with its elements of fancifulness, love and tragedy.Francine the doll was dumped in the sea so, not in a museum alas, but her father Rene Descartes is a famous mathematician and philosopher. its possible he could have made her or commissioned to have it made. I choose to think its true.
I research a great deal online. I go deep into these core topics. Usually antiquated lore pertaining to dolls, art methods and materials.Artificial life, love dolls, puppets, automatons, mummy, fetish figures, mannequins, androids,H+ and all such things tie in. I even read up on plant lore such as the mandrake root. since its in human form and there's superstitions about it.

"(...)even if you goof youve still made something! and no one knows but you what it was like in your mind!" -> I KNOW ! XD that's so funny, - and convenient. but now i wish i could see what WAS in your head for all your pieces, how frustrating ! :D
