This is my present project for the ADO 4 elements challange. Flame is a 6 &1/2 " polychromed clay relique bust. My idea when I began was to show how fire destroys, purifies and ash allows new growth , rebirth and is the primary element of change.
There's such intensity in the expression you've evinced from her and the emotions suggested by it-- there's pain in those eyes, but also power; a sleepless, relentless power that's as fierce as it is certain of itself and the damage it's capable of. The intagliated scarring that parenthesizes the lower half of her face manages to emphasize the beauty of that face's contours, as well as the traces of the fire that danced as it consumed... The regality suggested by her headpiece is well matched by her bearing, by the heat of her baleful gaze, and the accumulated sense of her full and dangerously combustible attention.
hola yo vivo en mexico city, como se llama la plastilina con que modelas? ojalá pueda conseguirla aquí, o hay alguna pagina en internet donde pueda comprarla? saludos y gracias, nuevamente tu trabajo es increíble!!!
I also like her best during WIP stages. After curing the polymer darkened so much that I had to paint her. So I lost the very soft translucent skin. I think she is the most shocking of my peices. I realy surprised myself with her.
I already wondered why you painted her! She is quite amazing at this stage. I also love her head piece. The white bandage that is immediately recognized as a nuns cap with the aureole like a crown. She shows quiet anger in her expression ...and the self mutilation.....yeah this one really grabs me. I don't think she needed the extras you added later. She is just perfect like this.
