Karrion 5" bust born Dec 13 2010

Another child bust. Probably the last one for the year.
I am still sculpting raven wings for her.

What cause of Lea? I hope if does go too far. I sent the master and some parts of the coiled seaweed base were fragile. She wants to cut down the base a bit,but I really liked the unusual tall pillar look.

I'm loving that chest-piece. Painting it a burgandy-ish color?

Thanks. Lots more work still to the chest styling. Not sure of colors yet but, I will be painting. One thing I wanted to do was flay her shoulder ala Fernando Vicente, but. Dont want to confuse the whole concept. I might have to save it for another one.

I saw this one on your blog

You may have done this already but the first thing that came to my mind when i saw the setting in the chest was some clock work sprockets and such. may look nice. Just a thought.

Not a bad idea. I wasnt sure what Id put in there ,but I have been working on black and white clay insignia.

I havent done anything with gears. Ive always loved automatons and mechanical toys, but Ive shied away from "steampunk". I feel a certain inner tug of war there.
If I do use clockwork mechanisms I would want it functioning at least appearing to and to have purpose and significance in my imagery.
