Brom is a favorite artist of mine...I can see a touch of him in your work. This is really great. I love your busts!

I realy love Brom too. Though I think my work has a resemblance more because we both are influenced by Frazetta, goth and art nouveau.

When I started this peice I wasnt thinking of Brom at all ,but when I had sculpted just the nude bust she had that stiff neck and muscular look and I thought hey I channelled Brom!
So when I dressed her I said eh whatever and I went with it. Usualy Im very particular about being influenced by other artists since I dont want my work to look obviously derivative.
I probably should have went ahead and develped following Brom which would have probably gotten my work popular far quicker ,but then I probably wouldnt have discovered so much of my own quirky nuances.
Sorry I will talk an ear off on occasion:D

No problem! It is great to hear about the creative process. I agree its true that sometimes popularity can come from riding the coat tails of another artist, but I am glad you chose to develop your own unique style. It is really awesome

I look at tons of art in all media so, it influences and inspires me. Probably fragments of what Ive seen just merge with me and float up from my subconcsious.

I just havent chosen one or 2 hero artists to follow or assimilate. Ive been thinking about it alot lately though ,but how to choose who? I think Id end up wanting to emulate everybody whos work I love!

This one I always fealt was too derivative of Broms work and not enough me in there. But I have always loved white skin, artnouveau, corsets and strong women. *shrugs* what can I say!
