wow...polymer clay.polymer clay is amazing...(I used to make miniture....things (just little knicknacks and jewelry peices...) out of it.) I'm starting to try to make some of my anime charaters out of it... but anyways... you are very skilled
most people get into it for small items. but its a very flexible meadium that can look like any other media oil paint, clay, stone, bone, watercolor fabric what have you . its very flexible! Its good for anime characters. Ive done some OC works.
...to me it looks as though she has been bound and gagged and locked away, hidden from light ... and perhaps her little heart is locked away too? poor little darling! i want to feed her pumpkin soup, and wrap her in a nice snuggley warm blanket!
I almost bought her....but somebody had beaten me to it Well I am working on my Etsy store...so hopefully I am finally going to sell some of my works! Your new bust is looking great already! Looking forward to seeing more of her
Oh Im sorry they dont usually last too long you have to pounce! Matilda sold before I got her listed. If you want to try and get one before I list Ill give you my email. If your timing is good you can request sneek peeks before I post and tag one whos face you bond with. Ive been real busy all of a sudden but, I have my new one Im working on evenings in bed cause I havent been able to sleep! I just finished my custom Gordo project. Ill share pics of him after then NY show. But that clears my plate a bit more. Im also working on a new BJD that will be cast in resin. SO my bust is only getting worked on when I have spare time.
Thanks Nita! I was thinking of buying her for my birthday....well she was gone and I bought a camera instead Now I am completely broke again but I hope to sell some stuff true Etsy.
As soon as my bank-account is filled up again and I see a work from you that I love I will send you an email. I love your busts and you are getting better and better at them, I honestly think you are one of the most talented doll artist around!
Have you considered entering your doll for the Dabida award ? The theme is "time" I think all of your busts fit the theme.
Sandra Arteaga won the award last year and I would be surprised if there is somebody out there who will be able to beat you.
Good to hear you are working on a BJD again! Are you going to do the casting yourself? I am also working on a BJD and I have heard about a non toxic bio resin. I hope to get my hands on that stuff it sounds wonderful.
I wasnt sure about Dabida ,but Id like to enter. If I have time. I adore Sandra and I cant imagine winning if she enters again! She has the props the animal friends the great costuming. Her work is so fun! I often have just a bust or naked doll! I know Essie too will probably be entering with something wonderful. Mine are whisperers.Slow to grow on ya!
The BJD is nearly done ,but I have 2 more to make. Im having her cast by a company. Non toxic bio resin? Whats it called?
Essie is a dabida member to, so she can not enter the competition I love Sandra's work she is a fantastic doll maker, but I think you are way better.I honestly can not think of anybody here on DA ore anywhere else, who is able to make such amazing realistic faces with so much personality and depth like the faces you create. Your works got a soul! Most dolls I see need the accessories to lift up the piece, Your sculpts are so great that they don't need accessories neither do thy need clothes, your power lies in the sculpts. You are more a sculptor than a doll maker, and that is a compliment. You have a rare talent! I think you can even tone down the accessories a bit more, your work does not need that, it draws away the attention of your fantastic soulful sculpted faces and body's.
I will thinking about it. Thank you for the encouragement. That means a lot to me Lydia My favorite part is the face so, now Ive cut out most of the surplus. I like to tell a story with emotion and resonance but leave something to the imagination. Just enough decor to get the feeling its old. I like my children to be ancient.
Well, if that's your target, you've achieved it here. You've managed to retain the classiness, the beauty of it while adding a very disturbing nuance. I'd love to see more works from you exploring this aspect.
wowowow! I saw her unfinished on your blog and thought she was gorgeous. It is so exciting to see her complete. You did an amazing job! Were I not a struggling artist myself, I would adopt her! Good luck selling her, I am sure someone will love to have her
