My sculpture Plum finally done!! I had to make the wig twice! And in the end the concept changed with the key not in the mouth but hanging at the end of the chain. I hope it still reads the same idea. I feel satisfied for the moment
Maybe somebody else has said it, but she has a haunting beauty about her. I find her to be a very alluring being and that key with the chain, that look on her face. I get the impression that she's looking back to see if one has the fortitude to take the key from her mouth. The mystery of this one is just so alluring. On a lesser note, I love her wild hair, it's just something I have a thing for, so I figured I'd mention it. I'd say more, but I think I'd just repeat myself. I'm glad she satisfied, because she's lovely.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree. She is very mysterious. Less of her story and meaning is spelled out to me. But I thought of Changlings ,unseelie court and Drow which are my favorite form of elvish culture. I also thought of New Orleans,(French quarter) I had wanted to make the key able to drop down her throat and pull back up.But Im glad I held up a bit there.
I love the hair too. It worked out perfectly for her face.
I, unfortunately know next to nothing about any kind of elvish culture. That being said, I can only come to fabricated conclusions. I like the sound of changlings though. I'm glad you kept it where you did, too. Not sure if she would've had the same charm had she been different.
Mmm, I like that. I try to put a "spin" on certain things of that sort, but I'll admit that most of the time it's something that I find favorable or something like that. Although sometimes I would apply a belief that would have it make "sense".
As for that tale of the changelings, you reminded me about them. It's been a long time since I've heard it again. Certainly not something that gets mentioned often where I am. Her transformation sounds amazing to me though, it truly does.
i kinda like expressing myself in all kinds of areas when it comes to art, wheather it be fashion, traditional art, interior design and i could go on...but sculpyure (especially with clay) is one of my least favourite, coz im so bad at it. but seeing ur art really makes me wanna give it another go. ur works truely amazing! well done!
Thank you One nice thing about doll or figure making is its never boring! It takes all the skills in other art forms combined. You are anatomy expert, character designer, painter/makeup artist, jeweler, hairdresser, fashion stylist and seamstress. Some are also prop builder, landscaper, miniaturist, photographer and furniture maker.
whoa, did u just say I'm all those things!? XD i wish i was, but the truth is there's still loads out there for me to learn. But thanks a ton for actually taking a look at my gallery, let alone replying. I know how busy you can get when someone has as many comments as u do.
And thanks for the support! I'll defferently try my hand at clay again ;D
