Shylita's Splinter by Sleetwealth Shylita's Splinter by Sleetwealth
4" bust of conjoined twins. I like them best at this stage.

I thought I should point out that she has one name not two like twins do because I was thinking of absorbed or vanishing twins which facinate me.

She is two headed actauly.

Although I have to say that I love the finished piece, there is something so appealing about this stage. It is as though they are complete just as they are.

wow, this very beautiful, and creepy of course, but in a good way.

Its great how they are in that plastic wrap, adds to the feeling :)

Thanks:) yeah I cover the clay in plastic wrap to keep the lint off as I work, but it starts to look like a ghostly veil. Maybe someday I can figure out a way to duplicate that look.

There is something really appealing about the twins at this stage. Not that they should stay a WIP, but, they're really interesting with limited colors, too, you know? I will never not be insane with jealousy of your sculpture. ^^

I agree. I had to finish them up but, the sculpture is very clean and simple here. I painted the lips before the clay was even cured and that was almost all they needed!
Thank you angel:hugs: Im proud to make you mad with jealous desire. I hope I can keep on doing that:D

maybe so. I think my style is still evolving.I made a leather body to test and am thinking about felting bodies too. Theres alot of decisions to make about direction.

Sounds good, I loooove leather and the soft feeling of felted wool :D

Not together though. The leather will have a nice old world patina and style. I started with a german pin jointed body, but it was too labor intensive and difficult.but then I made one from a french pattern and its simpler. Its also attractive enough to leave naked because Im just not confident sewing clothing.

The felt I think will be best for animal bodies or for things like hats, cloaks ,pillows or shoes.

Thank you.Actauly I never though I had much of a gift for macabre. I used to wish I was just a little more darkly wild. But I wasnt seeing my own brand of subtle decay creeping in there.

The realism of your faces always inspire me. I hope that one day I will be half as good!

Another unique theme. Unexpected but moving. Your sculpts always go that little step further, that little bit deeper, but in a good way.
