Wild Oranges by Sleetwealth Wild Oranges by Sleetwealth
This is an ancient oil painting by me. I had teen sisters for babysitters when I was 9 months. yes I remember them. Their Raphaelite red hair especially. I always had to have red haired dolls. :) hi if your looking Sexton sisters.

Wow I love this. way to branch out. Reminds me of Frida- their faces and all the symbolism in the painting.

Carisa I was thinking about you just the other day.Note me on FB about the eyes.
This is old work so I hope Im better now. Id like to read up on how to do photo manip so I can make reference and work out problems in advance.

Ironicly I met this great lady who learned from her husband who learned from Maroger who was a French salon painter and chemist. Shes going to teach me to grind my own pigment and make mediums. I had already gessoed a small panel to take baby steps to paint again and up she popps out of the blue asking through etsy if I needed supplies. How weird is that!?

Thank you:) Its cool in a painting you can make shoes that done exist. I was going for a deco style.

Pretty much anything visual art. I can dance.
I love to sing but, my voice is average. I tried playing zither and guitar. Disappointed.. probably needed a teacher. Ive tried for years to write a sci-fi/hard fantasy. I lack the discipline and structured thinking. I love to create and would try just about anything at least once.

I wonder about people like you...

Do you use references? Or does this amazing-ness just naturally pour out of your head and through your brushes?

I used reference for the legs on this one.The rest is from my memory drawing. Chair, shoes, dagger wallpaper, jewelry and clothes all designed by me. You can see the proportion is very weird in most of my paintings. When I paint again I will use more reference because the work turns out better.

What an interesting piece of work. I like how there's so much to look at, so many things to be found. I even like how though they are conjoined it's done in a rather subtle way. Like where they sit seems like a little seat just for them. The dagger almost seems crafted before it was painted, their footwear is exotic and alluring. They're crossed legs are also something I enjoy about this, and the arm that's just about in view. If you ask me, subtlety is something many artists lack these days.

I can't say too much about it in a technical way, but I like how this was executed. It looks like a vision from a dream more than anything real. It's the kind of thing that seems to be a clue for something... mysterious, I don't know. Your inspiration for this painting I find very fascinating though. I think it's great how you drew inspiration from what you know in order to create something like this.

Thank you. yes its busy with details :)

The seat IS crafted for them and looks like two scoops of icecream. I have no idea what I was thinking about that! The dagger I drew and designed before I painted it.
Technically my painting was very naive. I painted this in raw umber and white first them applied colors in glazes.

About the symbology there is duality between the girls. One is angry and holds a knife, the other is pleasant arms around her sister, one wears gold ,the other silver. The hummingbirds draw thread around them. its an hommage to lady of Shallot by William Holman Hunt. Birds tie her up as well. And my life is echoed in the tale of lady of Shallot.

That's amazing. It's like a mix of foresight and spontaneous creativity. I dare say that there's a sort of harmony going on when you explain aspects of the painting in that way.

Intriguing. Seems like you've had a very special view of the world for a long time now. I think it's amazing.
