Here she is the occupant of my ice thrown. Sculpted with pale blue pearlized clay.

8 & 1/2 " if she was standing. Hand beaded ice fringe on her over skirt. Aurora Borealis inspired silk corset has hues of violet, orange,pink and green.

She is made of polymer clay, pearl ex is added to the clay to give it shine and the blue shadows are painted with pastels.

i have been longing to learn to work with polymer i think perhaps i shall start at the turn of the new year!!!
do you craft all her teenie clothing by hand? lol this concerns me because while i love to draw fashion i can not sew

It realy is a great medium that hasnt even been explored much by fine artists. I look forward to seeing what you would do!

Yes I make all the clothes by hand. Im definatly not good at sewing. Some of it is glued into trenches I carve into the clay to minimize the amount of sewing . Im hoping to get better at designing fancy period gowns. but if thats not your thing you can sculpt the clothing in differnt colored clays.

hmm yes i could sculpt clothing from clay but the costumes along with the colors and facial expressions makes the complete feel.. thank you it will be a while before i venture in as i said the new year i expect to waste lots of clay just tryin to get the feel

Thats true the full multimedia effect is the best. I would love to discuss methods etc more with you! Your paintings are incredible and just the idea of similar sculptures intruges me.
clay never gets wasted that is a nice thing about it. if you sculpt and it looks bad you can smoosh and reuse. Even dirty and old clay can be used in cores or mixed in black clay
