It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Lately I feel like a solder for rights.
I'm no longer sheeply tolerant of doll plagiarism! Ive seen too many friends and great talents vanish on account of it. You are heart rapists, identity thieves and lazy leeches.

Don't help this con artist,and arrogant plagiarizer get richer.She is taking peoples money for membership to sculpting classes and not delivering. Her work is not original in the slightest. She is using images from artists right here to make sculptures of. She sells how to books full of information others discovered and gave for free on the net.

I'm new to her and her work. So does she copy dolls exactly? I know that I am inspired by lots of doll artists, and hope that's not the same thing.

I can't understand why someone as talented as she is, would want to simply copy other people's work. It is a waste of her own creativity, surely.

That's such bullshit!! You shouldn't change your style!!! Grrr. It makes me angry.

I started sculpting and learned a lot all by myself. Made some monstrosities. All in the name of learning. Over time, I've developed my own style. If it by chance happened to look like someone else's and someone had the gall to email me about it I'd probably take a flight to their house a pepperspray them. I'd be so ticked off. I know my style is my own and I would be willing to fight for it.

I'm glad you hid the other comments. This thing about Aida needed to be said. But people take the chance to champion their heroes sometimes. The person who made the comment was probably well meaning but they commented on the profile of the person they were accusing. It made me sad because it's exactly what you said. Newbies do learn technique sometimes by imitating people they admire.

Its alright I like my child busts and it can help you grow in better directions. As an artist I started doing more and more engravings,because I knew it would be difficult for the average dollmaker to interpret. You cant get the same look with stamps.And I am getting so distinctive now that no one is at all like me.That cant be bad.

I agree. It needs to stay clear on the Aida thing and we dont want shrapnel hitting others.
