How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Am I lowbrow because I sculpt fantasy?... what is lowbrow?.. do I want to be in that swamp ? Is it cool cause its looking eh.. uncool.  With cheeky theives  and snobs owning the playing feild.  Maybe I chose the wrong medium cause clay is work and hell I can vector trace real good!.. you wanna buy a print for 2k?

I can already hear an answer something to the tune of be whatever you want or  labels we dont need no stinkin labels!

Buuuut my teeth hurt from the lazy Mark Ryden hybrid , bigeye,saccharine, nubile goth, throw in a random skull,antlers or tentacle... hash that seems to mean insta fame right now. Is that all thats expected of me?

Since I already make ball jointed dolls  and figures of nudee fairy tale females I guess Im already there  and its only a small thing to push that much more,but the dying of the light screams nooooo! My stuborness wants to go the other direction.

I happen to be a doll sculptor nothing to take too seriously, nothing so deep there and my eternal love is for  nudes, fantasy, surrealism and dark art always have been and will be here when the territory is  trampled and unfresh and fad whores flit off to new ground. Ill be here mulching and tilling under hopeing something will grow in the depleated soil.

Is that the Eclectix gallery? I have my eye on their "Warm & Fuzzy" show; thinking about maybe making and submitting something for it.

I do think that "surrealist" is a good fit for a lot of your work. I'm looking at the list of artists over at the beinArt Surreal Art Collective, and there seems to be a LOT of overlap of artists that also bill themselves as lowbrow (or let others bill them that way).

I recognize some of those artists! I love Kinuko Y. Craft; I think I first saw her work on some book covers for Patricia McKillip. I didn't know that style was its own movement.

It looks like there is some overlap here also with some of the artists on the beinArt site.

I didnt know the name of that movement before you mentioned it an I checked it up to see. It is indeed an ugly name.. I would have thought that your work would be classified more like surrealist ("strong" surrealism instead of popular surrealism) too..

but then what's the difference between the lowbrow and the popsurreal movement?

it's funny...anything remotely surreal/fantasy/visionary seems to get crammed into this category lately (last decade or so). I get lumped there myself sometimes. not sure if it means anything. If it'll get me into Juxtapoz/Roq La Rue then I'll play the game.
